What journalists are looking for
Read the brief behind the booking. Journalists want a quote that helps them tell their story. Your job is to give them one that also tells yours.
A journalist is rarely looking for the truth in the abstract. They are looking for a quote that fits the story they have already started telling. The skill is to read what story that is, decide what part of your message fits inside it, and deliver that part in a quotable form. Done well, both sides win.
